This is a part-time position. The incumbent(s) will work up to 20 hours per week. Work schedule is to be determined. There are currently (2) vacancies but this number is subject to change. Bilingual pay is an additional $0.73/hr, if applicable.
Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To:
Under general supervision, assist with the coordination and implementation of educational and recreational activities including: sports, games, mini-excursions, competitive activities, contests, seminars, and special events; compile program/activity descriptions; maintain inventory of supplies and materials; collect and submit participant rosters, attendance sheets, registration forms, monthly statistical reports and other program data; instruct staff and/or volunteers in the implementation of programs and activities; monitor and evaluate daily activities and make recommendations for improvement; collect and process volunteer applications, time sheets, purchase requests, incentive requests and travel requests; refer staff, volunteers and participants to center coordinator for disciplinary action or recognition of achievements; provide general center support; transport program participants in City-owned vehicle; participate cooperatively in work team activities; answer telephone and provide customer assistance over the telephone or in person; perform other related duties as assigned.
MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION.
- Education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school
- Experience supervising and motivating volunteers
- Ab lity to deal professionally with customers of all ages
- Possession and retention of a valid California Class C Driver's License as condition of employment
- Or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, skills and abilities.
Special Working Conditions: Must be willing and able to work irregular hours, including weekends, holidays, days and evenings, on a regular basis as a condition of employment.
Note : Bilingual fluency in both English and Spanish, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Hmong, Korean, or Samoan is highly desirable.
