Sling Media is looking for a Program Manager to define, schedule, support, and track new and on-going products.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages overall product development process
Responsible for cross-functional, end-to-end scheduling, issue resolution management, and delivery of Sling Media products. Involves aligning schedules from different ecosystem components, tracking overall deliverables, managing open issues, and identifying project risks along with associated mitigation steps.
Provides high degree of forward-thinking on product development and introduction.
Provides overall project leadership, program management and coordination for multiple Sling programs involving new or modified software, system or service features.
Together with the Product Manager and Engineering Manager team, the Program Manager "makes it happen".
Projects tend to be large scope and complex.
A large portion of the Sling Engineering team is located in Bangalore, with which the Program Manager has to collaborate closely.
Creates inter-functional project team and chairs regularly scheduled meetings. Follows up with meeting minutes, and follows up on action items.
Assures that new or modified products/services are fully and accurately documented by whatever means are appropriate.
Acts as a primary driver on the project to assure the constant pursuit of total quality in product performance and project team performance. Continuously monitors project status and progress throughout the Company to assure meeting goals of product functionality, quality cost and schedule and report as appropriate.
Regularly and accurately reports project status to senior management, identifying any issues/risks – works towards “No Surprises”
Skills and Qualifications
BS/BA with appropriate technical/business major.
Minimum Seven years’ experience
Three years of Program Management experience needed with relevant technical/business background. Prefer PM experience with Digital Video products.
Experience managing large, complex projects with multiple parties delivering components.
Appropriate project tracking and scheduling skills.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to upper management and public groups.
Ability to work in detail with spreadsheets, slide presentations, scheduling tools and e-mail tools.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Experience managing Agile Development Teams
Project Management skills
Mastery of tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Bugzilla, etc
