The Sr. Proposal Specialist provides key focus on managing the completion and presentation of the RFP response, while meeting delivery timelines. The Sr. Proposal Specialist will project manage the response and its completion, working with multiple members of the proposal, sales and business teams. The Sr. Proposal Specialist uses the available tools and techniques to facilitate compliant, responsive, compelling and high quality responses. Additionally, the Sr. Proposal Specialist works with the many company tools on the development, maintenance and utilization of the RFP knowledge base.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
Leads complex, or major/strategic proposal efforts; edits, writes, coordinates, and ensures compliance, responsiveness, and conforms to company style, format and messaging; oversees preparation/writing/production of RFP/RFI requests.-30%
Responsible for independently performing research, writing, editing, and proposal production and coordination on a variety of proposal efforts, while working cross functionally with other proposal team members as needed. – 20%
Work with subject matter experts to maintain our RFP database repository and boilerplate information, ensuring information is up to date. Collaborates with other departments and subject matter experts to develop responses to new or atypical questions - 20%
Supports Sales teams and SME’s in integrating strategy/win themes and compelling messaging throughout the proposal. – 10%
Conducts follow up on completed projects and applies lessons learned to future efforts. Writes and publishes success stories, proposal summaries and lessons learned debriefs. - 10%
Answer ad-hoc requests for information in support of sales efforts. Support and back up team members as required. - 10%
Requires 4-year Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Minimum of 5 to 10 years RFP related work experience required; 2 to 5 years of healthcare industry or software development work experience desired.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word
Good knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
Good knowledge of Microsoft Access
Excellent communication and negotiation capabilities
Good organizational abilities
Intermediate comprehension capabilities
Good project management skills
