This position is responsible to develop and execute hardware and software test plans in order to identify problems and their causes. Conduct hardware and software compatibility tests with programs and hardware on various operating systems. Evaluate standalone software, hardware and firmware products.
Continually improving testing methods and test designs.
Create test-cases and scripts, partly working from already existing code
Thoroughly document all test steps and problems
Maintains test computers and installs and maintains multiple operating systems.
Setup and configuration of test networks. (TCP/IP, WiFi, Bluetooth)
Works closely with other engineers during project planning to develop the test plan
Carry out system tests and document in test report and suggest optimizations
Provide input regarding usability to Product Managers
Works directly with other test team personnel locally and overseas to complete required tasks within a specific schedule.
Work with other available test resources (engineers, interns, customer service personnel, external beta testers etc) to complete specific project assignments.
Teach, mentor, and train other team members in QA best practices.
Working with different Operating Systems (Mac, iOS, Windows, Android)
Basic understanding of programming, scripting, and Object Oriented methodologies
Advanced understanding of Software Development Lifecycle
Ability to think outside the box, to come up with test scenarios that will prove the product before it goes to market.
Ability to work well and communicate with others.
Self initiative, leadership abilities, detail oriented, and a passion for quality
Advanced knowledge and understating of virtualization methodologies.
Experience working with Source-Control-Management-System
Background with guitar, music, and audio electronics is highly desirable.
Proficient with Apple hardware. (iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac Mini, etc.)
Familiarity with Android OS
Test Case database experience
Advanced level of proficiency with MSOffice, Visio
Familiarity with Test Automation software
Ability to use hardware imaging tools
Familiarity with I18N and L10N methodologies
REQUIRED Degree and/or Training, including specifically defined educational equivalent
B.S. in electronics, software, or related field in Engineering, or similar degree
REQUIRED Specific Prior Experience
Minimum 5-years of SQE experience or equivalent
