Sr. QA Specialist

Responsibilities:
  • Must have at least 5 years experience with CMMI® , and recently with v 1.3
  • Intermediate SEI CMMI training is a plus
  • Previous appraisal experience is also a plus (as an appraiser or member of an appraisal team)
  • Must provide expertise and guidance in the establishment of organizational policies, plans, and procedures to maintain process maturity of CMMI® ver1.3 Level 3
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the Organization’s Standard Software Processes (OSSP) to be used by projects to establish mature software development processes
  • Must be able to modify and/or tailor a current set of engineering and project management processes within the CMMI framework, and to define needed evidence (based on justified waivers or tailoring) to maintain a Level 3 rating at a minimum
  • Support project teams by reviewing project adherence to process to determine areas of non-compliance, and to identify any process improvement opportunities
  • Participate in the preparation and the review of the Software Development Management Plan (SDMP), standards, and procedures
  • Prepare or update a project’s or organizational QA Plan
  • Perform audits on documents, development processes, test procedures, and the resulting documentation generated by the project’s functions (e.g., Configuration Management)
  • Identify, record, and manage audit discrepancies, and make recommendation for improvement of processes and procedures that may be inadvertently causing the discrepancies
  • Track process discrepancies to ensure corrective action is taken by Project Staff in timely manner
  • Escalate unresolved discrepancies in accordance with an escalation procedure
  • Work with the Program/ PM/Project Staff to resolve escalated discrepancies that could not be resolved at the project level
  • Must have some experience with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) required in order to assess contract’s Help Desk performance
  • SLA experience must include SLA metrics analysis to identify potential areas for improvement
  • Review the monthly QA metrics with Program Management
  • Compile the monthly status of QA activities and generate a monthly QA Report for Management and if needed, customer stakeholders
  • Secret Security clearance is a plus

Critical Knowledge:

Must have experience with performing Quality Audits based on the PPQA process area of the CMMI and the full range of SW development / engineering practices.

Education and Pluses:

A Master’s degree and five to seven years experience, or a bachelor degree and seven to ten years experience
