The Plant Sr. Quality Engineer assists in directing the efforts of the Quality Engineer and/or Technicians in providing information and technical support to the Plant Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Departments to control or improve quality levels. This task is carried out in a project management mode of problem identification, problem solving, and corrective action implementation. This involves the use of statistical tools, optimized sampling and personnel efficiencies, and new test method development. This position will also distill data from complaint investigation for the writing and tracking of Field Alert Reports for submission to the FDA.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Support product complaint program.
Provide input and review of plant validation packages related to plant facilities, equipment and processes.
Assist in developing economical sampling plans that ensure product quality.
Analyze quality data for trends and recommend improvements.
Complete projects related to quality systems.
Participate in training programs for plant Quality and Manufacturing personnel for complex quality systems such as sampling and process control.
Provide statistical assistance in setting up sampling plans for evaluation of new products and amended processes.
Keep current on new statistical developments and test method technology.
Work with Manufacturing and Engineering to drive process improvements and efficiency.
Work with R & D, Marketing and others in product line improvement.
Evaluate current quality problems and procedures and, where necessary, develop improvements or design new systems.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Mathematics is required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Five years experience in pharmaceutical or allied health industry is required.
- Incumbent must possess a thorough knowledge of sampling techniques and knowledge of validation processes.
- Incumbent should also have demonstrated management experience.
- ASQ certification is required.
