Our Shared Service division offers a unique and challenging opportunity for a Sr. R&D Lab Technician . This position will be based out of our Hauppauge facilities in Long Island , New York . Sets-up electromechanical, fluid equipment and instruments to perform complex R&D tests on properties and/or behavior of new products, components, material or machines in accordance with R&D specifications/directions and applicable safety procedure. Use mechanical and electrical schematics on a day basis during course or work. Records R&D test procedures and results, performs routine analyses and calculations, and recommends changes in equipment, products or test methods. May devise, fabricate, assemble or install new or modified equipment, components or assemblies for test purposes. Uses previously proven experience in troubleshooting electromechanical and fluid handling equipment problems and suggest and implements solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Participates and help R&D engineers and project leaders to set-up run experimental equipment.
Runs experiments and test per R&D engineers’ direction; record/maintain accurate data, analyze results.
Uses technical report writing skills to communicate results to project manager and broader audiences.
Maintains R&D experimental equipment in working conditions, making R&D equipment repairs.
Documents R&D experimental equipment maintenance log.
Works with R&D engineers on new equipment/process prototypes design/modeling.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results; keeping business information confidential; administering the system security; ensuring data accuracy and integrity; maintaining updated professional and technical knowledge; assuring systems compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate standards; ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
Complies with QSR, ISO and all applicable regulations and company procedures.
Acknowledge and maintain commitment with the environmental policy, and participate actively in the environmental
Education, Knowledge & Experience
Associate Degree in Electronics, Instrumentation or Engineering Technology.
4- 6 years of work related experience in a technical environment. PLC ladder logic, IQ, OQ, PQ validation experience desired.
Knowledge and programming PLC.
Knowledge in GMPs and GDPs.
Experience in conducting Engineering Studies and new product development preferred.
Experience in troubleshooting electromechanical or programmable equipment problems and suggests and implements solutions.
Able to interpret electrical schematics, P&ID, and mechanical parts drawings.
Good oral and written communication skills (English and Spanish).
Computer Literature (MS Office).
