The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual as a Robotics Engineer. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in industrial automation, with a focus on PLC systems, communications architecture, and integration of robotics and databases. This person must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and shop managers. The successful candidate will have knowledge in Automotive manufacturing systems, as well as exceptional interpersonal, organizational and management skills, demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent.

Responsibilities

Design, create and commission automated and robotic cells throughout the different shops.

Develop robotic applications, processes and software.

Support and assist maintenance team in troubleshooting difficult breakdowns and chronic equipment failures.

Act as liaison to IT department for MES (Manufacturing Execution System) development and implementation. (product information tracking)

Oversee maintenance, electrical, robotics and PLC projects, verify proper documentation.

Analyze weak spots and bottlenecks, propose, develop and implement counter measures.

Requirements:
10+ years of extensive experience with industrial equipment controls, interfaces, and communication protocols. 5+ years of which in Body Weld and/or press shop plant

Must be proficient in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and configuration. Experience with various Allen-Bradley platforms is highly desirable.

HMI programming experience

Expert in robot programming, teaching and backup and restoration

Experience creating various reports and database tools for management

Good overall computer skills, including Microsoft Office and e-mail programs.

Offline simulation and CAD skills in creating drawings and schematics.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
