About the Position:
The purpose of this position is to support SunGard’s Technical Service Delivery teams. This Sr. System Engineer (AOG) will interface directly with the Customer / System Engineer to provide 4th level support during test exercises and/or recoveries. This support position will be share responsibility for platform processes, procedures and documentation. Further, this Sr.System Engineer will provide advanced problem determination / resolution for all aspects of recovery testing, and also serve as the subject matter expert directly supporting customers, both internal and external.
§ Serve SunGard Business Continuity customers during testing exercises and during actual disaster recoveries by providing “expert hands-on” technical support on Storage Area Networking peripherals and infrastructure.
§ Act as a “subject matter expert” providing advanced technical input. Research technical issues, publish and implement solutions.
§ Develop “Best Practices” strategies for configuring and managing the environment.
§ Maintain platform documentation.
§ Analyze capacity utilization and make recommendations for strategic upgrades and expansion.
§ Responsible for all aspects of Storage Area Network hardware, peripherals and infrastructure.
§ Ensure firmware and Fabric OS levels are maintained within established standards.
§ Assist in the execution of the most complex client recovery exercises.
§ Develop, maintain and deliver technical training to SunGard employees.
§ Support, in an advisory role, SunGard sales and sales support personnel.
§ Maintain regular and effective internal and client communication.
§ Upgrades, Installs and Beta testing
§ Level 4 support for complex testing.
§ Work closely with our CTO , Product, Service Transition, and ARS Operational teams to deliver world-class support for our Advanced Recovery Services.

§ Drive operational excellence by providing technical engineering across implementation, incident resolution, and product reporting and change management.

Requirements and Preferred Requirements
Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):
§ B.S. degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent skill set developed through industry experience is required.
§ Minimum five years industry experience in design and engineering role in a large enterprise or service provider environment with the installation and support of an Enterprise SAN.
§ Extensive working knowledge and administration of Brocade DCX Fabric Infrastructure is required.
§ Experience with DCFM / BNA required.
§ BCFP Certification is required, BCFD is desired.
§ Extensive working knowledge of DASD Storage Systems, including IBM, HDS, 3PAR, NetApp, XIV.
§ Extensive working knowledge of Fiber Channel, FICON, and NAS is required.
§ Experience with Disk Replication service and products required.
§ Working knowledge of Enterprise-Class tape libraries is a plus
§ Working knowledge of Cisco SAN switches and infrastructure is a plus.
§ Ability to effectively use diagnostic tools is required.
