Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and support database applications spanning multiple lines of business
- Collaborate effectively with application developers, business analysts, and project managers to implement project deliverables
- Evaluate effectiveness of current database technology solutions and offer innovative ideas
- Implement and support database monitoring solutions
- Optimize & Troubleshoot production database applications as necessary
- Create and maintain technical design documents and diagrams
Qualifications and Requirements:
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree
- Minimum of 5 years of database development experience using Microsoft SQL Server
- Proficient in SQL Server 2008 (2012 preferred) development, including:
o T-SQL
o Performance and tuning
o SSIS (Integration Services)
o SSRS (Reporting Services)
- Understanding of Normalized and Dimensional database modeling
- Ability to design and implement database projects with minimal oversight
- Passionate about delivering highly available, robust database solutions
- Ability to work under the pressure of multiple projects and deadlines
Additional Preferred Requirements:
- M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree
- Experience with database monitoring tools such as Red Gate SQL Monitor
- Knowledge of database replication and Service Broker queuing
- Good understanding of Service Oriented Architecture
