The salary for this position typically ranges from $77,286 to $103,048 and is commensurate with skills, experience, and education.

The Sr. Smart Grid Security Architect will provide an innovative and comprehensive approach for complex business and technology initiatives pertaining to cyber security and smart grid environments utilizing cyber defense, enterprise risk management, information assurance and information security.
This role will also assist with the identification and evaluation of holistic security gaps with a focus on infrastructure and the business applications layer. Additionally, this role will identify and integrate sound security controls for applications, systems, and processes for the organization.
Responsible for developing Smart Grid cyber security architecture and baselines, as well as monitoring, analyzing and producing reports and presentations based on data from multiple sources. This position is a senior level position that will successfully develop a NSM (Network Security Monitoring) centric approach for network and host-based incident detection
Responsible for planning, designing and implementing processes for Smart Grid cyber security monitoring, incident detection, and incident response
Support complex applications and projects that require the integration of multiple security technologies (network, operating system, encryption, application, etc).
Design and implement security for the web server-based Internet and intranet eBusiness application infrastructure
Evaluate, implement, and integrate authentication and encryption technology to support corporate infrastructure technology as required for business processes and applications, utilizing the internet or other non-private networks
Industry involvement with Smart Grid Task Force (SGTF) or related working groups and local interest groups
EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
- Minimum of five (5) years of direct work experience performing the Duties & Responsibilities of this position including a minimum of three (3) years of electric utility industry experience.
- Expert Level Checkpoint Firewall Certification, CISSP
- Bachelor's Degree, from an institution accredited by the Commissions on Colleges, in Computer Science, Information Systems or other I.T. related field of study.
CISA, CISM, GIAC, ITILv3 certification
- Seven (7) or more years of direct work experience performing the Duties & Responsibilities of this position including five (5) or more years of electric utility industry experience.

Familiar with Smart Grid and advanced metering system (AMI, AMR) infrastructure and security architectures
Experience with encryption algorithms, secure communications, radio frequency technologies, and embedded systems security
Expert knowledge of major security systems: (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Anti-Virus, SIEM, and DLP)
Experience with control system communication protocols including DNP3 and MODBUS
Familiar with industrial control systems and real-time monitoring applications including SCADA, AMI, DCS, PLCs, and RTUs
Working knowledge of utility security and regulatory standards, metrics, processes and policy, including but not limited to NIST, FERC, and NERC CIP
Expert knowledge of VPN, NAC, Group Policy Objects, and Active Directory
Expert Level knowledge of major operating systems security, windows, web server security and network security
Working knowledge of Utility/Energy Communications Systems Architecture
Strong knowledge of wire-line and wireless networking technologies to include ZigBee, WiFi, IP, 802.11, CDMA
