Sr. Specialist, Logistics
GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 is seeking highly skilled, motivated and results driven supervisor to become part of our state of the art 300mm factory in Malta, New York in the Logistics department. This role will be responsible for leading a team of shift technicians to maximize the quality and process capabilities of a highly automated, wafer fabrication facility. This position requires availability to work a compressed schedule (12 hour shifts –alternating long weeks and short weeks – 4 days on, 3 days off followed by 3 days on, 4 days off) including occasional department meeting time commitments. The ideal candidate will be available to work any shift – day or night.
Be an active leader in developing a culture of safety, 5S and cleanroom protocol, and help ensure compliance to fab policies, guidelines and rules.
Lead a team of technicians and coordinate daily activities, tasks and projects between team members, engineers, partners, customers and vendors.
Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve production, quality, or maintenance issues.
Lead team meetings as needed at shift cross-over as well as daily department meetings with engineers and management.
Develop training materials and documentation to capture knowledge and promote learning and standardization of procedures and processes.
Train and certify team members on established processes and procedures.
Lead, drive and/or actively participate on continuous improvement projects to optimize processes and efficiencies.
Build and develop team members by setting daily challenging goals and by providing effective feedback, mentoring and coaching.
Establish a positive work environment characterized by mutual trust and respect, open and honest communications, teamwork and a passion for winning and improving.
Administer employment policies and procedures, approve time sheets and time off requests, and complete performance evaluations and career development plans for team members.
Perform manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspection, warehousing, stores, gowning, equipment, supplies and mail.
Prepare documentation and enter data into logistics systems including Warehouse Management System software.
Determine method of shipment optimizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
Coordinate pickup and delivery of material with service providers.
Ensure documentation is compliant in collaboration with logistics and trade specialist.
Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move stock or reorganize storage.
Operate motor vehicles as required for department transportation needs.
Order, purchase and recommend additions or deletions to standard stock items within established procedures and limits.
Perform cycle counts and physical inventories.
Utilize computerized or automated systems to accomplish tasks.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
Prioritize work assignments based upon service commitment to customers and business need.
Monitor deadlines, quality and activities performed within the field of responsibility. In case of discrepancies between target and actual, immediately notify manager and agree on appropriate corrective actions.

Associates degree in business management engineering or other relevant technical field of study
Internal candidates must be at least a Level 4 Principal Technician
Minimum of 5 years experience in a highly technical manufacturing/operations environment
Must be proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to understand, navigate and use highly complex factory software systems
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to build teams, lead people and mentor/coach others
Bachelors degree in engineering or other relevant technical field of study
Prior supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of hourly employees
Previous semiconductor industry experience
