As Senior Strategist. Social Media you will play an important role in the development of marketing initiatives and strategies for our clients. Working with agency staff, clients and partner agencies to develop and influence global campaign plans and briefs used in deploying global campaigns. You will collect and synthesize information into customer, competitive and business environment insights that are used to drive program and strategy recommendations for members of the Emerging Media team.

The Successful Candidate

You will have worked for an agency, consulting or technology company in the past. You are self-motivated, team-oriented, and have a strong personal interest in understanding information technology, customer behavior, communication channels (especially online/interactive), and holistic brand strategy. Your exceptional verbal and written communications skills, keen interest in digging for information and learning new things, synthesizing quantitative and qualitative inputs to identify trends and applicable insights, ability to deal with ambiguity, and a preference for a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment will be key to your success in this role.

Specific Requirements
  • BA/BS degree required; MBA or other advanced degree a plus
  • 6+ years experience in social media, advertising, marketing, interactive, consulting, or related field—ideally with a marketing research and/or account planning specialization; experience in relationship/direct marketing a plus
  • Strong analytic skills – ability to translate data into information and insights; disciplined and structured problem solving skills
  • Strong written communications skills
  • Strong verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Familiarity with business-to-business and/or technology-oriented marketing
  • Experience in developing strategic frameworks for targeting, messaging and offers for RM/interactive/direct marketing campaigns
  • Facility with reading and understanding quantitative reports and conducting analysis of raw data
  • Strong ability to research, craft and articulate creative briefs
  • Personal interest in and strong aptitude for understanding information technology, willing to learn about technical details of clients’ products and services
  • Experience and interest in qualitative research and analyzing such research to generate actionable insights and recommendations
  • Active listening skills, able to moderate discussions and seek out information from people in various occupations and at all levels of organizations (from entry-level workers to C-level executives)
  • Training and aptitude for getting into the minds and hearts of target audiences
  • Sense of humor and grace, ability to deal with ambiguity, frequently changing priorities and compressed time frames
  • Microsoft Office capability with excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Client service-oriented and pleasant personality
Responsibilities:
  • Develops social concepts, ideas, processes and plans for achieving the teams’ and clients’ business objectives
  • Serves as an evangelist for social media at Wunderman Seattle internally across departments
  • Contributes to thought leadership for Wunderman Seattle
  • Builds and delivers thoughtful and data-driven social marketing strategy for Wunderman campaigns
  • Consistently identifies new opportunities and trends to add value to clients
  • Compiles and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data and propose recommendations to clients to drive business impact
  • Stays up on trends in the social world and contributes to POVs that can be shared across Wunderman’s clients
  • Aids in building a team culture that works hard and has fun doing it
