Job Description

As a member of operation team, this position will support and maintain daily operational infrastructure required of our applications in multiple datacenters. Be responsible for the availability, reliability, and operations of our systems. Provide technical expertise on the numerous technologies we are using (hardware, SAN, software stacks, databases, monitoring, configuration management, …). Work within the Operations team to ensure 24x7 availability and response within our SLA requirements, provide timely incident resolution They will also be responsible for ongoing improvement of processes and applying best practices for the environment. Specifically, the System Administrator Engineer will be supporting YouSendIt operation, application deployment, assist in design maintenance and documentation of production, engineering, QA and Sales environment using various commercial and open source tools. Work closely with production systems and application owners to provide best practice end-to-end monitoring, systems-management. This position will assist with various other projects such as architecting and implementing a configuration management solution for production / staging systems environment in IT Operations. Handle escalated trouble calls and work closely with engineering, customer support, QA and infrastructure teams to resolve service issues. Validate problem descriptions and perform detailed problem diagnosis; track and update problems in trouble-ticketing system .Rotational 24x7 On-Call Support

10+ years working in a similar hands-on position responsible for systems and/or network design and maintenance, ideally in a SaaS environment.

Experience with monitoring systems, including custom check specification/development

Experience supporting various application stacks on various versions of Windows and multiple distribution of Linux.

Experience SAN and NAS storage foundations

Experience working with MySQL, Scripting language Apache, Tomcat, load balancer, web apps. JAVA Application

Advanced knowledge in Database Administration, Storage Management, Backup & Recovery, Performance Monitoring, Tuning, Database Integrity & Security.

Familiarity and understanding of the OSI model and a real understanding of TCP a definite plus.

Experience with administering, configuring, and troubleshooting multi-tiered production environments

Strong sense of operations and customer support

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent)

Manages user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spam.

Requires knowledge of computer networking essentials.

Strong analytical abilities and professional office experience is a must

Strong team work and communication skills.
