DESCRIPTION

The Sr. Systems Administrator role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. The Sr. System Administrator installs, configures, and maintains the organization's LAN server and workstations. Acts as primary organizational interface with vendor and provides internal analysis and support. This position is responsible for managing the performance of multiple hardware and software platform interfaces at the most complex level and keeping the I.T. Manager informed of progress on a daily basis or more frequently as required.

DUTIES

Install all new hardware, systems, and software for networks.

Install, configure, and maintain network services, equipment, and devices.

Coordinate network projects involving software and hardware evaluation, installation and maintenance.

Ensures assigned projects are completed in a timely manner and within budget.

Monitors network performance and implements performance tuning.

Manage network user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spam.

Monitors and reports security problems to IT Management.

Performs quarterly administrator password changes on network equipment and applications.

Perform troubleshooting analysis of switches, ASA and Spam/Email filter systems.

Coordinates with IT Management in designing and planning for future growth.

Evaluates and recommends purchases of network hardware to IT Management.

Creates and maintain accurate documentation of new system implementations, network problems and resolutions for future reference.

Maintains an accurate log of all vendor remote connections accessing Soboba infrastructure and submit the log to the IT Management monthly.

Assist IT Manager in creating, documents and maintains backups, offsite storage and disaster recovery plans.

Manages PC and server inventory and licensing.

Acts as a mentor to the IT Technicians.

Prepares and submits a weekly report of accomplishments and goals to IT Management.

Acts as a backup to IT Technician(s) duties if required.

Required to respond to support calls for any network or system issues occurring after normal business hours in timely manner.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent.

Any combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Degree in IT preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience required.

Serve as a team member of the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians Tribal Administration, following the code of conduct, displaying the highest level of ethics and integrity in action, thoughts and conduct.

REQUIRED

A current California Driver's License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work is predominantly sedentary and requires minimal physical exertion. The employee is normally seated; however, the nature of the work allows for periods of standing or walking at will. The employee may lift up to 50 pounds in weight. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment can be quiet office levels to loud, as the employee works in multiple work environments and buildings, including working outside on occasion.
