The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for the successful architecture and administration of the DDI Windows Forest and Domains; Active Directory schema; Portal & e-mail organization supporting DDI internal and client-facing applications. The Senior Network Engineer will work closely with the Application Development, Project Management and Systems/Network Engineering & Technical Support teams on analysis, specification, implementation and support for these platforms. This is a technical position with architecture, design and R&D responsibilities.
Position will require experience with the design and implementation of a role-based AD schema using delegated administration and multiple OUs in support of B2B eCommerce.
Project planning and approval including vendor collaboration, affected end user department/office coordination and notification, project detailing and management and on-time deployment with minimum downtime.
Deliver high-quality integration services, including configuration and internetworking of servers.
Constructs and maintains infrastructure to ensure required levels of availability, stability and performance of DDI network services.
R&D of new tools, processes, systems as well as strategic system design.
Development of all maintenance and recovery plans for the business systems.
Administration of Servers to include operating system maintenance, performance tuning, etc.
Infrastructure application administration and system testing as required to insure performance, reliability and compliance with established technology standards.
Management of network security, backup systems and approaches to insure “best possible” security and reliability of DDI systems and data.
Vendor coordination as required maintaining contracts, deployments and system administration.
BS Degree in Computer Science or related field. 5+ years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu.
Min 5 years experience with administration of Microsoft Windows Server Operating systems – 2000, 2003, Exchange, SQLServer.
Strong understanding of network architecture and topologies including TCP/IP networking.
Strong initiative, technical aptitude, and exceptional proven initiative to investigate/learn new technologies.
