eHealth is looking for an experience Sr. System Administrator to support Production datacenter operations, for our fast growing online health Insurance Market Place.


Diagnose and resolve Linux system problems

Install and maintain apache web servers, tomcat and other applications Configure and maintain tools used to monitor production and Engineering systems, Network devices/links across the enterprise

Maintain monitoring system

Provide 24 X 7 on call support on a rotational basis

Perform systems troubleshooting and incident management for production issues

Perform system enhancements: plan and direct upgrades of operating systems and monitoring products

Provide and maintain documentation for various monitoring components

Enhance performance monitoring of Linux/windows systems, tomcat, apache, databases, network devices and related environments

Must be able to shift priorities as required to meet business requirements and deadlines.

Follow the IT Change Control and operational procedures for all system related changes.

Maintain various compliance standards on the systems

Automate monitoring / alerting with templates

BS or MS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar.

At least 5 yrs of experience managing Linux systems in production data center environment

Extensive experience with installation, configuration, performance tuning and architecture of monitoring tools like Solarwinds Orion, Hobbit/Xymon, Cacti, nagios, splunk, OpenNMS, HP Open View, IBM Tivoli, etc.

Extensive experience with Solarwinds Orion is highly desirable

Good understanding of LAMP stack and overall systems/network concepts

Good understanding of Linux Distress (Centos, Red hat, Oracle), Open source.

knowledge and experience managing windows Operating system

Strong experience with systems management tools, logical file systems, and client/server environments.

Functional knowledge of core protocols such as TCP/IP, SSH, SMTP, LDAP, NFS, DNS, active directory, SSL, apache, tomcat, IIS

Experience with managing VMware/ESX in Production environments is a plus

Good understanding of server virtualization

Experience with Apache/IIS web server desirable

Experience with Cisco UCS blade servers is a plus

Ability to work independently
