Senior user interface designer/usability professional with responsibility for major programs. The position will be focal point for ground-up redesign of OSS user interfaces (such as vForce) with major impact to the business. As such the position requires extensive independent work such as center and technician visits, extensive design presentations to senior business and IT executives, ability to direct the related development work of onshore and offshore development teams and ensure compliance to usability principles and design standards.
This position requires a minimum of 10 years experience in information technology user interface design along with a strong knowledge of UI design tools, methods, software packages, and best practices. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of C&MB ordering and customer service systems and processes. They must be comfortable defending decisions with Senior (SVP level) management. Position is expected to act independently with little to no management direction and respond appropriately to unique design situations.
The position will play an integral part in shaping and guiding the future direction of the C&MB and SDA user experience, especially call center representatives and technicians. They will also serve as backup for other senior UI designers and managers and sometimes for their director.
Required Skills & Experience
Familiarity with IT processes/SDLC; system development methodologies such as Agile, familiarity with Verizon Consumer & Mass Business ordering, billing, sales, marketing, and related business processes; knowledge of graphical manipulation programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Flash; knowledge of marketing communications; knowledge of usability aspects of IT technologies e.g. tablets & mobile devices.
