This position is accountable for the accurate processing of all cost and budget accounting data including account analysis, bank reconciliation, cost allocation and journal entry creation and correction during the monthly cost accounting cycle. Internal and external reporting of the results are also requirements of this position.

Nature & Scope
This position reports to the Supervisor of Budget and Analysis as do two (2) other Financial Analysts. The incumbent is responsible for cost accounting and budget support. This includes but is not limited to payroll account analysis and payroll bank reconciliation.

The incumbent is also responsible for monthly maintenance and data collection relating to the allocation of administrative costs. SADBUS (small and disadvantaged business) vendor reporting and Corporate Contribution reporting is a prime responsibility of this position. This position is responsible for the reconciliation of the corporate travel airfare account and works closely with the Travel Specialist and Travel Coordinators.

This position must maintain current knowledge of financial operating procedures, system procedures, and government regulations as they relate to the accuracy of the accounting systems. This position participates in all corporate audits.

This position must work cooperatively with the Accounts Payable and Payroll areas regarding issues relating to administrative costs.

The incumbent has contact, both written and oral, with management and executive staff in order to maintain the most accurate cost allocation and budget information as required for Enterprise Operations. There are frequent contacts with various areas throughout the Enterprise.

The incumbent must keep the supervisor informed of all non-routine activity which could create the need for special handling.

Other duties may be assigned to this position in, support of divisional goals as deemed necessary by the Manager.

This position has the authority to make decisions on routine processing issues which affect the monthly cost cycel but must advise the supervisor of the decisions. He/she may not make policy changes or operating procedure changes without the approval of the Supervisor of Budget and Analysis

Minimum Job Requirements
1. B.A. in Accounting

2. Experience in personal computer spreadsheet processing.

3. PC Skills

4. Excel experience

5. Superior math skills

6. Customer service experience

This position is identified as level three (3). The integrity of information must be maintained as outlined in the company Administrative Manual.

Segregation of Duties
Segregation of duties will be used to ensure that errors or irregularities are prevented or detected on a timely basis by employees in the normal course of business. This position must adhere to the segregation of duties guidelines in the Administrative Manual.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES OR ACCOUNTABILITIES (Essential Functions of Job)
1. Cost allocations support and maintenance.
2. Corporate budget support.
3. Balance payroll workpapers to ledger.
4. Creation of journal entries for miscellaneous adjustments.
5. Correct cost errors..
6. Prepare payroll account analysis.
7. Collect and reconcile receivables.
8. Reconcile monthly airline travel account.
9. Monthly SADBUS reporting.
10. Monthly Corporate Contribution report.
11. Prepare all other external reports on a timely basis as required.
12. Prepare other reports requested by management.
13. Review the results of the cost accounting system monthly to further ascertain accuracy or the need for corrections.
14. Reconcile payroll banking.
15. Organize workflow and establish goals.
16 .Make recommendations to the Supervisor for changes in operating procedures and other activities as needed.
17. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
