    Job Summary

    The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing daily accounting tasks as directed by the Controller and in accordance with all internal policies and procedures

    Essential Functions
    • Analyze and process accounting transactions on financial subsidiary systems and the general ledger
    • Maintain other accounting records as directed
    • Maintain, balance and reconcile general ledger to subsidiary systems and records
    • Assist with month-end close procedures and processes
    • Prepare accounting, financial and budget reports to support sound decision making
    • Maintain established accounting procedures and adequate internal controls to meet GAAP and regulatory requirements
    • Assist in the preparation of the financial reports, schedules, exhibits and supporting documentation utilizing Management Reporter as a major reports writer
    • Work with accounting team to help develop and implement new systems or enhance existing systems to resolve problems or improve accounting/financial processes and internal controls
    • Assist with maintenance of the general ledger chart of accounts for the various entities under common control. This includes assistance with maintenance of analytical accounting tools
    • Complete monthly reconciliation and analysis of the accounts receivable and accounts payable detail to the general ledger
    • Perform periodic balancing of all intercompany and related party receivables and calculating and recording of monthly interest on all intercompany accounts and selected related party accounts
    • Assist Accounts Payable with data entry and expense reconciliation
    • Able to complete ad-hoc requests when necessary
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the company

    Job Requirements and Qualifications

    • BS/BA in Accounting or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

    • 1 to 3 years of professional accounting experience is required
    • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial statement creation and formatting
    • Experience with Great Plains – Dynamics, Management Reporter accounting software strongly desired
    • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, with particular emphasis on Excel

    • Proven abilities in researching and resolving problems, including data mining and analysis

    • Flexibility to perform in an ever-changing work environment

    Special Information (Travel required, physical requirements, etc.):
    • Increased hours during peak times, i.e. month-end, quarter-end, year-end, may be required
    • Ability to sit for long periods of time
