In this hands-on position, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for leading key accounting functions and assisting with others for both US and UK operations across the organization. Primary responsibilities include accounts payable, credit card reconciliations, and processing and paying employee expense reports, in accordance with and supporting company expense guidelines. Additional responsibilities may include participating in other important areas performed by the accounting staff, such as bank and balance sheet reconciliations, other general ledger activities, and other areas as designated by Controller.
This position has a high degree of contact with internal departments and external vendors. This position performs a variety of tasks, working under direct to general supervision, and must be able to manage to deadlines. You will have experience in and the ability to thrive in a rapidly growing and changing organization. This position is performed in a business casual office environment. Responsibilities
Lead accounts payable process, including vendor inquiries, maintaining files, and 1099 reporting (requesting and obtaining W-9’s, annual filing of 1099’s)
Handle all credit card reconciliations in a timely manner, working with card holders to obtain receipts, obtain sign off, etc
Lead processing and payment of employee expense reports, supporting company expense guidelines
Participate in monthly financial close process, including journal entries as needed
Participate in other general ledger activities as designated by Controller
Assist with other financial matters as they arise, which may include annual financial statement audit or tax requirement prep work Required Skills/Education
Relevant accounting experience, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated understanding of timing cutoff and general ledger coding
Good written and oral communication skills
Excellent organization skills
Self-motivated with strong multi-tasking skills and work ethic
Skilled in the use of computer applications and spreadsheets, especially Microsoft Excel
Ability to analyze account balances and identify and research inconsistent results and resolve reconciling items
Ability to occasionally work flexible hours to support international operations
