The Jump Operations Legal Department supports the business activities of the Jump family of companies which are actively involved in the financial and technology sectors. This position will be a critical part to a small legal team supporting domestic and international entities in diverse areas including contracts, employment matters, corporate governance, intellectual property, restrictive covenants, secured interests, and other areas to support the growing business operations.
Provide analysis and legal advice and services on legal issues including, contracts, licensing, intellectual property, employment law, general corporate matters, regulatory matters and business agreements
Participate in preparing, reviewing and negotiating legal documentation to ensure compliance with business, legal and regulatory requirements. Participate with other departments in negotiations to ensure consideration of all relevant legal issues and appropriate protection of Jump’s interests.
Provide internal opinions on patent, technology and other intellectual property matters
Draft, review and edit reports, correspondence, articles and other documents.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Demonstrated experience in general corporate matters including governance, drafting transactional documents, license/technology agreements, employment law, intellectual property, regulatory matters, and contract management.
Experience in telecommunications and technology agreements are a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor
Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues to protect the Firm’s interests.
Excellent organizational skills and high level of attention to detail
J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
5+ years of general corporate experience with a strong background in contract drafting and negotiation.
The ideal candidate will have sound character, be willing to “roll up his/her sleeves,” and have excellent business and legal judgment.
A self-starter and someone who is business-oriented
Superior intellect, with the ability to combine analytical reasoning, creativity and judgment.
Quick study, able to handle complex matters, with multiple initiatives going on simultaneously that require discretion and confidentiality.
