R&D Scientist I – Molecular Biology
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join the Melecular Biology R&D team in San Diego. The ideal candidate will be an essential member of the molecular biology team. One of the key responsibilities of the position is the construction of mammalian expression vectors encoding therapeutic candidate proteins, recombinant target molecules and immunogens.
The candidate must be proficient in the use of PCR based assembly, site directed mutagenesis, vector design, and sequence analysis. In addition, the candidate will RT-PCR clone antibody variable domains as well as non-antibody target proteins. The candidate also must be able to perform routine mammalian cell culture and be familiar with transient and stable expression systems in order to support in-house antibody development. In addition, the candidate will work with multiple partner lines within ebioscience to ensure a seamless transition of projects into manufacture for large scale production.
- Master’s degree in the life sciences with 5+ years’ experience in industry laboratory research or Ph.D with 2 years post-graduate research experience
- Experience PCR, RT-PCR, site directed mutagenesis, basic molecular cloning skills
- Mammalian cell culture and transfection
- Experience with data analysis and presentation software
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to work closely with other group members within teams is essential
- The individual should be scientifically creative and driven by a willingness to embrace innovation and an eagerness to challenge and meet aggressive timelines
