The Staff Development Scientist participates in discovering, developing and implementing innovative technologies and/or diagnostic markers, leading the development of products following well defined action plans and timetables. The incumbent aids efforts to define new products and identify technical challenges in product development; facilitates the implementation of externally developed technologies that improve internal processes; maintains knowledge of new advances (or state-of-the-art)in principles and applications. Also, maintains well organized laboratory notebooks in compliance with relevant procedures; supports post-launch to resolve performance and/or quality issues; and may publish articles in scientific journals to advance the company's marketing competitiveness or produce patentable work.
Review and interpret product requirements and defining the test strategy and approach. Design test cases. Generate the test procedure/protocol. Perform tests. Provide updates to project personnel. Analyze the data using analysis tools, interpret clinical results, and write test summary reports. Write and present data for milestone reviews.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline with 9+ years exp OR Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline with 7+ years exp. Experience with design and development of hematology controls and reagents, including but not limited to stabilization of cells. Experience in troubleshooting instrument and reagent performance issues and formulating project plans. Familiarization with 510K submission is preferred.
