This opening is in the Training Department. The mission of the Training Department is to support NVTC's mission of Helping People with Intellectual Disabilities to LIVE LIFE. They are committed to ongoing employee training and development that will provide NVTC employees with the competencies required to make a difference in the quality of life for the individuals we serve.
The candidate selected for this exciting position will participate as an instructor in staff development programs for all NVTC staff. The Staff Development Specialist will be in charge of teaching assigned classes in the pre-service program. In addition, they will provide technical assistance and support to adjunct trainers by assisting with preparation of course content, materials, or presentations, etc.
The selected candidate will provide certification and recertification classes in TOVA, CPR, and requests for specific in-service training. In addition, they will assist in overall operations of the Training Department.
To meet minimum qualifications for this position interested candidates must have:
High School Dipolma or equivalent and relevant course work in education or a related field is required. A college degree in education or a related field is preferred.
Prior experience with teaching/training adults and/or experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Employment will be contingent upon obtaining TOVA Instructor and CPR Instructor certification at first available opportunity.
Specific background experience in health services, psychology, or behavioral sciences preferred.
