Burns & McDonnell is a 100% employee owned company with a 114 year history. Our Denver office is seeking a talented employee owner to serve as a Staff Electrical Engineer within the water global practice.

Examples of assignments are designing controls systems around programmable logic controller (PLC), develop control

schematics, develop control system wiring diagrams, working with Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), drawing

production, electrical load calculations, short circuit calculations, lighting calculations, equipment layout, conduit layout

and routing, conductor sizing, and completing panelboard schedules. Other duties may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) from an accredited institution with a minimum of 4 year related

experience. Experience in developing electrical plans and editing master

specifications for lighting, power, grounding, one-line drawings, control schematics, and wiring diagrams that are typical

for industrial facilities required. In addition, plans, specifications and system diagrams for specialty systems such as process

instrumentation, data, telephone, fire alarm, public address, and security systems. Ability to model and perform short

circuit and load flow calculations using software such as SKM with some guidance from senior engineer. Experience with Autocad and Revit are preferred.

candidate must be detail-oriented, and able to work independently for much of the time. Must be willing to learn new

skills, and be adept at solving unique problems. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and to work on a project

team. Occasional requirement to travel to client meetings or job sites as needed. Ability to obtain professional registration is required.

Good oral and written communications skills are required. Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, Windows operating

system, Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheet and Outlook software is required.
