ARCADIS Remediation East group in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to support a growing base of projects in our office. This is a mid-level opportunity for a motivated individual looking for career growth in environmental consulting.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Operations duties may include project management of small environmental projects as well as task management on larger remediation projects.
  • Engineering work to include site characterization and remedial design.
  • Participate in the design of in situ soil and groundwater treatment systems using both established and innovative technologies, including experience with 3 or more of the following: soil vapor extraction, air/bio sparging, bioventing, dual- or multi-phase extraction, oxygen injection, chemical oxidation, enhanced reductive de-chlorination, phytoremediation, permeable reactive barriers.
  • Operate and maintain existing remediation systems, conduct and evaluate system performance monitoring, troubleshoot and optimize treatment system operation as necessary.
  • Conduct remediation pilot studies and ensure collection of useful and representative data for purposes of remedial alternative feasibility evaluation and design.
  • Remedial system construction and startup experience
  • Prepare cost estimates and assist with remedial alternative evaluations.
  • Fieldwork may include staff and subcontractor oversight, soil and groundwater collection, operation and maintenance activities for remediation systems, soil gas surveys, groundwater well installation, and Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • In addition to engineering, office work may include data compilation, report writing, and regulatory file review.
  • Individual should have good writing skills, good client interface skills, and be able to serve as an assistant PM

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum years of experience: 5 in remedial design
  • Education required: BS degree in Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Registrations/Certifications required: OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER, PE
  • Skills required: Experience with remedial design and proficiency in use of AutoCad required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Years of experience preferred: 5-7
  • Education preferred: MS degree in Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Skills preferred:
  • This position does require travel. Travel amount is negligible.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
  • This position does not manage others.
