This position is assigned to Tabor Correctional. This position provides direct psychological services such as mental health assessments, psychological evaluations, individual and group treatment, crisis management, and staff consultation. Conducts risk assessments on inmates with a history of violent sexual crimes. Provides psycho education group leadership for special offenders.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:

Employee must have a wide range of knowledge, skill and ability in the use and interpretation of psychological assessment instruments. Must have an in-depth knowledge of theories and systems of psychological factors such as learning, personality disorders, personality dynamics, psychopathology, etc.
Preference will be given to applicants who have a current NC Psychology License; Have correctional internship or experience, have worked in inpatient settings, or have the degree in clinical psychology.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Master s/specialist degree in psychology from an appropriately accredited institution. Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina under the provisions of the NC Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90-270).
