As test engineer you will deliver a test framework which will be used by developers and testers and help build tools for developing and testing content rich applications. We are currently seeking for CBU EVO Dev-Test team a Test engineer to work in our Sunnyvale location. In this position, you will gain valuable hands-on experience about understanding SW design and test strategy including white-box testing. CBU Dev-Test team is responsible for supporting early feature tests strategy before feature testing starts in Test Engineering.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILIES:
  • Review SW functional specification and Unit tests
  • Develop automation framework to support smoke tests and Unit test scripting infrastructure.
  • Testplan, test harness and test case development
  • Performance and scaling tests
  • Implement enhancements for upcoming protocols in JUNOS and vendor equipments.
  • Assist Software Developers(s) with debugging of issues and create bug-defects.
  • Create scripting and white-box tools for SW wide use, to help w/ day to day challenges.
  • Work on L2 and L3 feature tests for future JUNOS EVO SW releases
  • Script and run regression tests after SW integration on integration branches.
  • Write knowledge base articles to document common problems and their resolution for organization wide reference.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 6 years of experience working on large automation design framework for routers, switches.
  • Experience with configuring and setting up Juniper or Cisco routers a plus
  • Strong scripting skills in web design including Perl, shell scripting and tcl/expect.
  • Strong object oriented language concepts
  • Familiarity with Unix and related bash tools.
  • Familiarity with Java unit test frameworks a plus
  • Good understanding of MPLS, TCP/IP fundamentals and commonly used routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Able to work well independently and in a team
  • Network certifications (or equivalent training/experience) are desired but not required.
