The Manager of the Staffing Office & Patient Transportation is responsible for the quality and management of systems supporting effective staffing, scheduling, payroll functions and personnel data maintenance for the Nursing Department conducted through the Staffing Office and Patient Transport Team, accomplished through such activities as budget planning and control, personnel administration, training, communications and workflow procedures. Oversees day to day activities in accordance with applicable union contracts, regulations and cost containment efforts. Identifies, coordinates and implements projects/programs to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of operations. Resolves complex problems, many of which do not have easily definable solutions.
Must possess experience in developing education and training programs; experience with budget management and development; experience and knowledge of procedures/policies/regulations of staffing. A minimum of two years in hospital management or Nursing Administration; successful management of a multi-disciplinary staff of professionals, technical and non-exempt employees. Experience must include working in a Union environment. Demonstrated understanding through clinical and/or other experience of nurse staffing requirements sufficient to make judgments on staffing issues. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in computer systems and nurse staffing and scheduling systems, preferably Onestaff, Ceridian and/or API. Demonstrated analytical skills applied to productivity reports, budget variances and staffing ratios. Ability to adapt to constantly shifting priorities in managing a wide-array of projects and possess demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
