Position Summary
The Dispatch Operator provides direct support to Arkansas Children's Hospital by prioritizing and assigning service requests that come from all areas of the ACH campus and within the hospital. The Dispatch Operator spends a majority of their day communicating with customers and ensuring requests are completed in a timely and professional manner. The Dispatch Operator is also responsible for the entry and monitoring of all service requests in the e-Request database.

Position Duties

1.
Receive and Prioritize Service Calls
  • Prioritizes and assigns service requests to technicians
  • Communicates effectively with both internal and external customers to ensure requests are clear, concise, and completed to the customer's satisfaction
  • Monitors e-Request database to guarantee unfilled requests are assigned in less than 30 seconds once a technician becomes available
  • Monitors daily workflow and coordinates break schedule for technicians so that customer service requests are not unnecessarily delayed
  • Provides outstanding customer service and demonstrates outstanding telephone etiquette.

Perform Clerical Duties
  • Answers telephone calls promptly and ensure phone coverage is always available without the need to rely on an answering machine
  • Maintains functionality of office equipment such as computers, telephones, copier, etc. and notify appropriate staff when problem arises

Supportive Services
  • Acts as a liaison to the Director and notifies them of service complaints or areas which need service recovery implementation
  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency situations and react appropriately
  • Maintains appropriate documentation and tracking used to monitor performance efficiency

Position Qualifications

Education Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Note: Must successfully demonstrate an annual competency for department responsibilities

which includes 2 years of working in an office setting which required working with computers, answering phones, and communicating with customers both internally or external to the department experience

Must be able to adapt to frequent changes and work within a fast paced environment to complete short term deadlines Must have ability to problem solve with little or no supervision Basic computer skills: read and send email, access intranet websites, enter data into database and utilize communication devices such as Vocera or text pagers
