Position Description

The State and Federal Programs department is offering a fast-paced, exciting internship! The position will be guided by an educational expert with over three decades of experience spanning from classroom teacher to Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Education. The internship will also provide exposure to professionals and activities related to the National Governors Association (NGA) and the Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) as well as members of Congress.

Overall Responsibility

The intern will be responsible for the organizational activities related to the Sr. Vice President and consultants within the State and Federal Programs department.

Serve as the department liaison with the company’s travel coordinator(s) for the arrangement of travel related needs for the department

Manage travel related expenses for department leadership

Attend to internal and external invitations of department representatives for speaking engagements/presentations

Maintain calendar items for department leadership

Update department Microsoft SharePoint web site with relevant news articles

Participate and summarize online events held by various national organizations

Function as the department liaison with the company’s sales force within specified regions of the country

Assist with activities/events related to the department consultants

Required Experience:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university with an emphasis on political science or public policy

Superior multi-tasking and organizational skills

Written and verbal communication skills

Background in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
