Significant building automation experience, specifically with Johnson Controls-Metasys This position may also cover weekends as well as PM and Night shifts High school graduate or equivalent plus training required for stationary engineers license. Current City of Chicago or City of Elgin stationary engineers license. Current State of Illinois drivers license will be required to work any shift including weekends and holidays. 3 years of experience working with boilers, pumps, H.V.A.C. systems and associated equipment in a large institution or major facility or equivalent education. Ability to operate and maintain boilers, H.V.A.C. systems and associated equipment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with physical demands. Ability to work in extreme heat and temperature variations. Ability to do very heavy lifting (Lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently). Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to move, climb, bend, reach, push and pull, as related to job activities.

Job Description:
Performs the necessary operations in the boiler room and other areas of the hospital to supply the hospital complex with heating, cooling, ventilation, water and other life support systems to provide a healthy and safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees under the general supervision of the Chief Engineer and Manager of HVAC/Plant Operations Accountabilities: 1. Operates all campus heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment including high pressure boilers, steam absorption and centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, fans, pumps and systems in a manner that optimizes efficiency, safety, and occupant comfort per department policies and procedures. 2. Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC and other equipment as assigned per established procedures including inspection, cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, testing, flushing, minor repairs ,rebuilding ,or replacing parts/components to insure that systems remain within the established operating parameters. 3. Performs HVAC equipment repairs and/or installations or replacements as assigned or as required by the situation in a timely and workmanlike fashion.
