The Analyst is responsible for developing reports for the Provider Relations Department regarding networks, providers, pharmacy benefit managers, etc. The incumbent is responsible for working with and understanding databases, preserving data integrity and updating existing reports along with creating new reports as requested. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Essential job functions include the following. Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change. 1. Assisting with the development and implementation of project management strategies and processes; 2. Developing expertise in health care equity and community health improvement and project management in order to act as a resource to answer questions and address concerns; 3. Compiling, processing and reviewing information (raw data) from several computer programs including SQL, Excel to generate reports; 4. Write and modifies code requiring knowledge of multiple programming languages and platforms; 5. Reporting and monitoring data to include preparation and analysis of reports; 6. Designing and generating routine and specialized reports for departmental and administrative use; 7. Performing queries and providing downloads of information as requested. 8. Analyzing trends, graphs and other data and preparing reports to include but not be limited to month-end, year-end and other date-specific reports; 9. Produces reports on pharmacy utilization and PPO access fees for stop loss reimbursement; 10. Performing audits to ensure quality, accuracy and the integrity of the data; 11. Analyzing the error and control reports as well as reviewing the resolution of data; 12. Utilizing problem solving techniques to identify areas for improvement, creating tactical action plans and implementing and monitoring those improvements; 13. Preparing and being able to explain and present client specific utilization, enrollment, trend and other information in the context of local, regional and national employee benefits; assisting with the analysis of provider contracts, care management, productivity, etc., and recommending improvements; providing peer review on similar projects prepared by others; 14. Reporting to Senior Vice President but also working closely with and taking direction from other members of Allegiance's management team in ensuring clients receive appropriate reporting and analysis; 15. Developing proficiency in certain reporting tools and processes including but not limited to Microsoft Excel (including Excel macros), Microsoft Word, SQL, iBiz, COGNOS and StarPoint Healthcare Group. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in related field Minimum Experience: Two to four years experience. Knowledge in health care field preferred. Other Qualifications: Excellent oral and written communication skills required Ability to prioritize problems and responsibilities Extensive PC skills, including Visio, Windows, Word, Excel, Crystal Reports Sequel and PowerPoint Ability to create professional business documents including letters, business plans and reports Experience and knowledge of health care and TPA marketing and business Strong analytical and organizational skills Strong level of interpersonal skills to collaborate and work effectively with others Must be self motivated, proactive and resourceful with the ability to exercise sound judgment Must be able to actively listen and contribute to work flow Ability to be flexible, work under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to project a professional image and positive attitude in any work environment Ability to organize and recall large amounts of detailed information Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to operate typical office equipment Working knowledge of general office procedures.
