Statistical Project Associate
The RAND Corporation is seeking master's level Statistical Project Associates to work on multi-disciplinary research teams. Project Associates are expected to work closely with Ph.D. statisticians and other specialists in all disciplines to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to research, analysis and problem solving. Under the supervision of RAND researchers, these statisticians will perform research support tasks including database development, contribution to analysis activities involving statistical computing and modeling, and written documentation of methods and results.
Many analyses and most database development use SAS; however, many teams use Stata or R or other specialty software such as Mplus or WinBUGS.
- Demonstrated skills in the use of SAS.
- Expertise in other statistical software, such as STATA, R, and WinBUGS, is highly desirable.
- Experience carrying out applied statistical analysis, especially in collaboration with Ph.D. researchers.
All research positions at RAND require excellent analytic skills, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both orally and in writing; the ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team; and a strong commitment to RAND's core values of quality and objectivity.
MA/MS in statistics or biostatistics is required.
