THIS IS A REPOST-PREVIOUS APPLICANTS DO NOT NEED TO REAPPLY . This is a supervisory position assigned to DHHS – Central Regional Maintenance in Raleigh, NC . Responsibilities include: supervising the 24-hour operation, repair, and maintenance of all equipment and systems in the boiler plants on the Dorothea Dix and Governor Morehead School campuses; supervising assigned staff; ordering fuels; preparing for and scheduling boiler inspections; preparing monthly and annual reports for plant operations; providing input for renovation and repair projects. This is an essential position and will be required to report to work before and during adverse weather conditions and respond to emergency callback issues. The normal work schedule is M-F, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM but may be required to work shifts, weekends, and holidays in the event of staff shortages.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:

Advanced knowledge of steam plant operations, maintenance, and repair; experience with troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic and digital controls will be essential; ability to operate a computer and maintain electronic files and reports; ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and electronic methods.

Six (6) years experience in the operation and maintenance of high pressure boilers. Three (3) years of supervisory directly related to steam plant operations.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Completion of high school and three years of experience in the operation and maintenance of large, complex steam boilers preferably including some supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
