Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of or aptitude for developing basic medical terminology.
  • Ability to complete in-depth orientation program and implement program elements with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to comprehend complex operational manuals.
  • Knowledge of or aptitude for computer skills to perform inventory, billing and professional research.
  • Knowledge of or aptitude for developing working knowledge of infectious micro-organisms, chemical sterilants and disinfectants, and sterilization and disinfection mechanisms.
  • Ability to evaluate and maintain sterilization and disinfection equipment including monitoring, minor repair and cleaning.
  • Ability to document, maintain, monitor and work safely with extensive chemical inventory.
  • Ability to document, maintain, monitor and work safely with cleaning and sterilization equipment and processes.
  • This individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span (e.g., pediatric/adult/geriatric). Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the assigned unit’s policies and procedures.


  • Essential Functions:
  • Evaluate and maintain sterilization equipment including monitoring, minor repair and cleaning.
  • Document, maintain, monitor and work safely with extensive chemical inventory
  • Document, maintain, monitor and work safely with cleaning and sterilization equipment and processes, including biological and chemical monitoring.
  • Maintain CSS inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Work closely with the Infection Control Coordinator to establish, evaluate and revise detailed written procedures for CSS processes,
  • Ensure the provision of timely, high quality sterile supplies and equipment to hospital, clinics, and Village Health Clinics.
  • Work closely with Infection Control Coordinator to ensure sterile services are delivered at BBAHC meeting or exceeding all professional standards and recommendations for CSS.
  • Orient the On-call Technicians to CSS procedures as necessary.
