This position is located in our newest property addition in The Americas. Formerly known as The Mansion on Peachtree, the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta, luxury hotel comprises 127 spacious guestrooms and suites, providing guests with unparalleled views of the city. Facilities include an all-day dining restaurant and lounge bar, as well as a wide selection of meeting rooms, including a 130-seat ballroom. The extensive spa facilities are complete with 14 treatment rooms and will feature signature therapies for which Mandarin Oriental spas are renowned.
Set up for dining outlets and banquets, retrieve and wash soiled wares, transport supplies and food to service areas and assist the Kitchen with plating up of Banquet meals. Clean and maintain equipment in Dishwashing/Kitchen/Cafeteria/Compactor/Storage areas. Assist in washing pots, pans and other kitchen utensils/equipment.
It is the mission and intent of this position that the incumbent will take full responsibility for his/her job in accordance with business requirement at Mandarin Oriental and the Stewarding Department expectation.
The Steward will report directly to the Executive Steward and Steward Supervisor.
The Responsibilities of the steward is to provide support for the kitchen staff, banquet staff, and all F&B outlets upon request.
It is a steward's responsibility to assist the Lead Steward to ensure the kitchen and all F&B outlets are within all health code standards by providing the highest standard of sanitation throughout the departments.
The stewards will play a very important role in the operations of the dish machine to ensure all china, glassware, and flatware are clean and sanitized and ready for use upon request.
The pots station must be maintained and all pots and utensils cleaned and sanitized and ready for use for the kitchen to be able to perform their duties.
Stewards must have knowledge of chemicals and their use and knowledge of how to clean the dish machine.
The steward must be able to spot check all areas of the kitchen, hallways loading dock, and box bailer area and assist in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation thru out all areas of F&B operations.
Most importantly the steward must be a team player, multi-tasked and have good organizational qualities to provide full support in food and beverage.
- Must be able to be flexible on weekly schedules.
- Speak good of English language, read and write
- Must be self motivator and motivator of others.
- Must work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
- Must have organizational skill.
- Minimum experience in stewarding department.
