The Animator creates the performance of an animated character, conveying emotion, movement, action and personality. The Stop-Motion Animator animates articulated, rigged puppets on a stage or set working closely with the Director and Animation Supervisor to execute performance in continuity with character development and effects.
Essential Job Functions
Animate characters and shots as assigned.
Block out (rehearsal or pop-through) rough animation for Director and/or Animation Supervisor for approval.
Work with Director and/or Animation Supervisor to finalize animation.
Meet animation deadlines and quotas as established by production management.
Animate props and effects, if needed.
Attend animation dailies.
Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Film, Art or related field or equivalent combination of education/or experience.
3+ years experience as a Stop-Motion Character Animator in the entertainment industry.
Experience as a Stop-Motion Character Animator on theatrically released Stop-Motion Animated Feature Film preferred.
Able to follow direction.
Strong animation acting skills.
