Technology Services Department - Under direction from the Infrastructure Systems and Applications (ISA) Supervisor, the Data & Systems Administrator performs systems data storage and server related duties.

Typical Job Duties:
• Closely adhere to best practices, policies, and procedures, including ITIL, DR/BCP, records managements, and information security
• Quickly escalate to supervisor both technical and non-technical matters that impact multiple people; if the situation warrants, escalate with vendors, outside agencies, and others, as well
• Demonstrate strong time management skills and resourcefulness, completing work on or ahead of time; remain flexible, given changing priorities; work with minimal supervision
• Using strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, perform in-depth support, administrative functions, and performance management for data storage appliances
• Identify computing and storage-related upgrades or improvements needed, initiate discussions with peers and supervisor, make recommendations, and implement approved changes.
• Exhibit professionalism in conduct, communication, and appearance; be service-oriented, collaborative, and display a positive attitude toward customers, co-workers, management, vendors, and the public; demonstrate honesty, integrity, and exceptional business ethics
• Demonstrate dependability, working outside normal shift to ensure completion of projects and resolution of problems and uptime for users, whenever necessary. For off-hours changes, be available the next business morning to manage potential problems that are a result of the change
• Participate in on-call rotation, be able to respond to phone calls and be onsite, if required, when on call Actively maintain skills, pursuing learning opportunities (seminars, college, web sites, trade magazines, etc.) that relates both to technical and business/interpersonal functions
• Implement and support data storage configurations to provide continuous data availability and rapid data recovery in the event of a disaster
• Manage and protect mission-critical data through the use of data replication and recovery tools
• Effectively mentor and train others in technical matters
• Effectively manage projects, adhering to project methodology
• Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Education, Experience and Certification(s):
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science and at least 4 years of practical work experience with NetApp, Active Directory and Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 environment; or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
• Minimum of one year of practical experience in a SAN storage environment
• Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Server Administrator or MCSA: Windows Server 2008 or higher preferred
• Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Symantec NetBackup, and VMware virtualization experience preferred
• NetApp Certified Data Management Administrator preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrate a good understanding of the computing environment related to areas of responsibility and the various technologies in use (OS, hardware, backup, storage, virtualization, e-mail, high availability, monitoring, LAN, WAN, SAN, databases, applications, root cause analysis, etc.), ensuring maximum uptime for users and processes
• Ability to effectively monitor performance objectives
• Must be highly motivated with strong oral and written communication skills
• Effective interpersonal skills necessary to interface and collaborate
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
• Ability to work and make decisions under pressure and meet all deadlines, goals and objectives as set forth
• Strong work ethic and professional demeanor required
• Ability to create technical documentation, and keep status documentation current
• Work is performed under minimum supervision. Requires initiative and independent judgment
• Demonstrate proficiency with operations and general care of computer hardware and other required office equipment
• Be able to work alone outside of normal business hours
Supplemental Information:
This position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
However, flexibility is required.
Physical Requirements:
• Office: Majority of the time is spent sitting at the computer, remainder of the time is spent assisting in other functions
• Work from Home (if applicable): About 100% of the time is spent sitting at the computer
• This position requires clear verbal interaction with employees, the public and agencies
• This position may require bending and reaching
• This position may require going to other departments and/or offices on different floors and/or buildings throughout the day
• This position may require occasional travel to other sites to review products, or attend meetings, seminars or classes
• Ability to use standard office equipment
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
