Title: Storage Engineer

Job Location: Los Angeles, CA

Job Description:
Our customer is seeking a Storage Engineer with 5+ years technical experience with large networks

Responsibilities :
  • Manage, design, upgrade and maintain firm wide storage area network, including NetApp and Brocade Fibre infrastructure, provisioning storage, data replication and snapshots in a multiprotocol environment;
  • Manage, design, upgrade and maintain firm wide business continuity and disaster recovery program including, including monitoring regular CommVault backups of disparate data types (flat file, SQL, Exchange), DoubleTake and other replication implementations;
  • Manage, design, upgrade and maintain firm wide server platform systems, including HP ProLiant server hardware, blade enclosures, Windows Server 2003/2008 and physical server provisioning
  • Develop, review, recommend and manage budget proposals and project schedules;
  • Research, recommend and implement additional systems or services;
  • Stay current with trends in private and public cloud storage, computing and security technologies;
  • Plan and perform all routine administration and maintenance, including the application of patches and security updates and extensive business continuity and disaster recovery systems testing;
  • Develop and maintain concise process documentation related to responsibilities
  • Respond as a second-level escalation point for Help Desk personnel
Qualifications :
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree from accredited university
  • 5+ years technical experience with large ( >300 users) networks;
  • Highly proficient with VMWare technologies ; NetApp OnTap ; fiber channel storage; CommVault Simpana ; NSI DoubleTake ; Windows server support; server virtualization (P2V); VMWare vSphere and most major business continuity and disaster recovery technologies;
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation capabilities
  • Ability to travel to remote locations with little notice;
  • Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and rotating on-call duties
Desired Certifications and Experience :
  • MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional – Enterprise Administrator on Windows 2008 Server)
  • NCDA (NetApp Certified Data Management Administrator)
  • VCP (VMWare Certified Professional)
  • CCE (CommVault Certified Engineer)
