The Enterprise Infrastructure Architect is the chief technical lead
within the Professional Services organization for storage
infrastructure projects. The Enterprise Infrastructure Architect is
responsible for ensuring that complex infrastructure solutions
are scoped, architected and designed with sufficient due
diligence to ensure a successful implementation. In addition the
Enterprise Infrastructure Architect is responsible for overseeing
and reviewing the technical deployment including auditing the
compliance of the infrastructure deployment to the original
architecture/design, ensuring correct standards for quality of
deployment and to ensure that individual solutions can be
deployed within the infrastructure in accordance with NetApp
design and implementation best practices.
The Enterprise Infrastructure Architect is the primary technical
resource for progressing qualified named and major account
interest in NetApp’s Shared Storage solutions and Storage
Management Framework methodologies.
The Enterprise Infrastructure Architect will be engaged 30-50%
of their time in a pre-sales capacity alongside the Solution
Principle and sales teams. Each Enterprise Infrastructure
Architect will be leveraged across multiple targeted accounts.
Architect infrastructure solutions to meet the customer’s
business challenges as a multi-tenancy IT provider to their
internal or external customers.
Be responsible for delivering Assessment Services (example:
Storage Management Framework workshop) and Consulting
(Architecture/Design) services to and on behalf of customers
with medium and large scale infrastructure opportunities.
Collaborate with NetApp Account Teams and Sales Districts to
identify prospective Infrastructure opportunities within target
Translate business requirements into technical architectures &
methodologies. Where applicable partner with SE and PS
organizations to jointly define or leverage early design work.
Assist Solution Principles with solution implementation design
Audit and validate infrastructure viability and compliance with
original architecture / design through oversight on project
Be an active member of global practices and communities,
contributing to the company's solutions strategies.
Work closely with System Integrators, Service Providers and
third-party vendor organizations as required.
Where possible be an industry advocate for NetApp -
participate in customer briefings and tradeshow speaking
Lead virtual technical team activities.
Be an independent worker and self starter.
Education and Experience
10+ year’s professional experience in a related technology or
Excellent business acumen with a strong ability to map
business requirements to technical solutions.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills,
proven presentation skills.
Experience in creating and presenting technical solution
proposals to Sr. Managers and Executives.
Travel required – Must be able to travel to local offices and
customers on a daily basis. Travel to customers and offices
outside of your local area of coverage up to 30%.
BS/BA in CS/EE required (or equivalent experience)
Experience developing and Implementing solutions deployed
in enterprise environments (e.g. Virtualization, Messaging and
Collaboration, Data Protection and Retention etc ).
Experience developing and implementing enterprise and data
Experience architecting and deploying NetApp solutions is
Solid understanding in infrastructures and alltypes of
operating systems including VMware, Windows, AIX, and
Understanding of database technologies and applications are
ITIL Certification would be nice to have, but not required.
Strong working knowledge of file systems and storage
technologies (NAS, SAN), IP networking, and/or Fibre Channel
