The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for developing and implementing procedures, and conducting the sourcing, selection, ordering, tracking and maintaining appropriate inventory levels of all raw materials and supplies for all departments of Florida Biologix which is part of the Center of Excellence for Regenerative Health Biotechnology. The duties include interaction with project managers, department managers, scientists, and others to determine project requirements and needed supplies, to understand the timelines for these requirements, and to source and place orders through the fiscal/admin department in a timely manner. In addition, source, select, compare and negotiate pricing with vendors for equipment as well as materials and supplies. The Florida Biologix facility is operated in compliance with cGMP regulations, and this position includes responsibility for ensuring compliance with these regulations.
Job duties will include:
Manage overall ordering processes for Florida Biologix including ordering, stocking, and inventory. Current inventory consists of over 9000 items and monthly orders of over 300.
a) Manage inventory of materials through FB’s Passport Inventory System.
b) Maintain a perpetual inventory system to ensure proper inventory levels.
c) Maintain appropriate levels of “Quantity on hand”, “Reorder level” and “Reorder quantity” in the software system. Ensure pricing in Passport is accurate.
d) Maintain special order files and handle exchanges, credits, and returns.
Work with Administration Dept. to ensure orders are placed within PeopleSoft system. Follow up with approving managers to ensure orders have been approved, processed and received. Negotiate with FB vendors to evaluate new products, substitutes, and to compare vendor pricing. Assist with Florida Biologix budget and contract drafting. 10%
Manage procedures for sourcing, selecting and purchasing of materials, and devise new more efficient coordinated procedures. Ensure and be responsible for vendor qualification and vendor applications. Work with vendors/suppliers to obtain discounts on purchases, particularly equipment and expensive materials.
Daily, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Evenings, weekends and/or holidays as needed to complete work and maintain schedules
A high school diploma and five years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
This is a time limited position.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with minimum of one year work experience in scientific or engineering area with an understanding of cGMP regulations, cleanrooms, upstream cell culture processing, downstream purification processing, formulation and filling, cell therapy, biological assays to assist in understanding of items and equipment being sourced and purchased. Familiarity with MS word processing programs and spreadsheets is mandatory, as is a capacity to follow written procedures, and an ability to read, write, and understand English. Incumbent must have excellent organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
