This position affords the right candidate the opportunity to grow and manage an international business under the guidance and with the resources of a burgeoning ,very successful company .The Strategic Account Manager will lead and manage Natera’s expansion into major international markets. The primary responsibilities of this critical role are to identify, close and implement deals with clinical laboratories, recruit and educate key opinion leaders from the OBGYN community, and identify regions with the highest growth potential.
The Strategic Account Manager will become an expert in Natera’s technology and service offerings and be able to represent the company and its business interests at the highest levels: with physicians, lab directors and CEOs of the largest laboratory companies. Additionally, the Strategic Account Manager will become an expert in market-specific environments like local insurance systems, regulatory frameworks, genetic testing laws, competitive landscapes, influential medical societies, etc. This is a front line sales and business development role requiring about 50% international travel. This is also a major leadership role within the company that will likely lead to future management opportunities.
Desired Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate may hail from a variety of backgrounds. A tenacious investment banker, an accomplished entrepreneur, a business development professional or savvy, successful salesperson might possess the right ‘DNA’ for this role. A track record of closing deals and managing client relationships at the highest levels will help you get our attention . An MBA from a top ranked school would be a plus.

- MBA required
- 3-5 years experience in client-facing roles like sales, management consulting, investment banking; and/or deal-making roles like business development or private equity investing
- Experience in healthcare industry, with understanding of diagnostics business model
- International business or cross-cultural experience, ability to speak a second language
- Very strong writing skills
- Very strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Strong analytical ability, comfort with science and numbers
- Competitive and fearless attitude
Natera develops genetic tests that help families have healthy children. The company has a CLIA-certified laboratory in California and unique technologies that combines expertise in molecular biology with advanced statistical techniques. These techniques enable Natera to analyze tiny quantities of DNA more accurately than anyone else in the world, primarily serving OBGYN physicians and their patients.
The team consists of about 200 statisticians, geneticists, doctors, laboratory technicians and software engineers from top-tier universities. Our technology has been funded by six grants from the National Institute of Health and a group of private investors led by Sequoia Capital. Natera is already providing genetic testing services to over 300 IVF centers, OBGYN practices, and partner laboratories in over 25 countries worldwide.
