Strategic Sourcing Manager

Position located in: Pensacola, FL

This individual will serve as the Strategic Sourcing Manager for the Pall Pensacola, Florida facility, with category management of “Chemicals” for the America’s region. Responsible to manage all Strategic Sourcing tasks related to Pall’s product and services requirements for Pensacola covering $23M of Direct PVO (Purchasing Volume / Spend), and $19M of Indirect PVO, plus $20M of Chemicals category PVO for the America’s region. A total PVO profile of $57M. This will include, but not limited to significant interaction with R&D, Engineering and Operational functions to provide Global Sourcing, Outsourcing, Insourcing and overall Sub Contract Management in line with corporate strategy. The role will require a high level of interaction with other Strategic Sourcing/Category Managers, both regionally and globally. The role will also entail sourcing category management as required. This professional position will be responsible to create, and implement such strategies while supporting overall strategy of Pall’s Global Strategic Sourcing organization, and its related objectives in alignment cross-functionally. This individual will be responsible for performance to the various KPI’s of Strategic Sourcing; including but not limited to Net Deflation, Purchase Price Change, Purchase Price Variance, Cost Reduction, Margin Enhancement, DPO/Supplier Payables, Working Capital, Global Value Sourcing/LCC Sourcing, e-Auctions, and Supplier Performance. This individual will manage key supplier relationships, formulate and negotiate critical supply contracts, including assembling and analyzing market data, evaluating supply alternatives and crafting negotiating strategies. This individual will champion continuous development of suppliers to meet Palls “Preferred/Qualified Suppliers” (Forward Procurement List), participate in design reviews with R&D and suppliers on manufacturability & raw material selection in order to achieve most optimal component / service cost. This individual will support, monitor, evaluate, and mentor the local Strategic Sourcing team members while ensuring policies and procedures regarding compliance, commitments, early involvement, supplier selection, supplier evaluation, and supplier development related to the category are understood, and implemented. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate existing vendor base, to establish current state. Once established, define future state / “best in class” supply chain / supplier design requirements; Interface with decentralized procurement teams to establish “local” manufacturing site inputs / requirements are aligned with center led strategy; To produce a supplier rationalization program, with execution timeline; Define GVS (Global Value Sourcing) opportunities, for new sources of supply (China, India, Central / Eastern Europe, Mexico, and Latin America, as applicable); Categorize, and define supplier spend with BCP (Business Continuity Plan), to manage risk, and liability; Design, lead, negotiate, and implement multiyear Pall contracts (as applicable); Detailed understanding of macro-economic factors, technical / regulatory factors affecting, driving, and influencing category management; Maximize “year over year” working capital improvements; Design and lead vendor transitions (Outsourcing, Insourcing, Vendor to Vendor); Strong understanding of Lean methodologies, principles, and tools; Ensure logistics model for “Total landed” cost of supply is maximized. Prioritize highest level of quality, and continuity of supply for location / category; Support R&D & Engineering on all New Product Development (NPI), and introduction programs; Support cross-functional efforts to reduce costs, standardize components through the VEVA process; Dynamic understanding of market place technologies, for adoption, and incorporation into Pall’s value proposition; Critical to ensure strong, value-adding relationships with suppliers, internal customers, and cross-functional departments; Business travel requirements up to 25%. Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Procurement, Engineering, Metallurgy, or applicable - MBA preferred; Minimum of 7 to 10 years of procurement / category management experience; Minimum 3 years management experience; Highly effective communication and facilitation skills; Proven negotiation skills, with demonstrated performance results; Ability, to understand and formulate the business requirements for a commercial trade contract; Conducted business travel outside of North American; Has a current valid passport for travel; MUST have global sourcing experience for a global multinational manufacturing company; Strong cultural sensitivity to manage relationships across global boundaries, and time zones; STRONG leadership capabilities to deliver results and to build cross-cultural teams; Tactical strength and abilities to support manufacturing locations globally; Experience in leading Global Value Sourcing (China preferred) projects, “Cradle to Grave”; Highly analytical multilingual ability (both written and oral) an advantage; Experienced with the usage of electronic sourcing tools for RFI, RFQ, Reverse Auction.
