The San Francisco office of Code and Theory is looking for a strategic leader. We're a NY-based design firm that is growing its SF office. Our approach is user-centric, which requires insights and analysis to drive our recommendations and experiences, whether it's in web design, application development, social media, or advertising. That's where you come in. You're forever curious, clued in to emerging media, able to spot trends and can relay all you know and see to clients and creative people alike. You love design not only for its beauty but also for its utility. You can be a data wonk some days and a free-spirited thinker on others. You have set up quantitative and qualitative studies and can interpret data into insights. You're comfortable embracing the unknown and know what it's like to be part of a team.

You also like contributing to business development efforts. This includes developing client leads for businesses that interest you, prospecting for new leads, and leading the strategy portion of pitches. Business Development responsibility does not lie solely with you but finalists will demonstrate an eagerness to participate in the office's growth.

As the senior strategy participant on the office's small executive team you will contribute to office culture, agency planning and inspiration.

Code and Theory is a well-respected digital design firm that has debuted some interesting work for a great list of clients, including Vogue, the Verge, The Daily Beast, MobiTV, Showtime, Current TV and Dr Pepper. Responsibilities: »

Define digital brand behaviors for our clients or prospective clients in the digital space »
Develop communications frameworks that cover the roles of media and touch-points for clients' brands »
Develop audience, brand and/or competitive insights that lead to the strategic approach »
Oversee digital creative briefings and steer creative teams to be on-brief and on-brand »
Contribute to big digital ideas that will move the needle for our clients »
Present strategies and idea prototypes to clients »
Serve as thought leader in the agency and for clients in the area of digital strategy »
Develop measurement frameworks and key definitions of success for brands, and make strategic optimizations based on the insights

Experience »

7-10 years agency experience »
Mix of communications planning, brand planning, digital product development and CRM strategy »
Strong understanding of how to use social media to achieve marketing and business goals »
Understand how to interpret analytics and derive insights »
Strong presentation skills (writing & speaking) »
Develop and deliver thought leadership and creative solutions that strengthen clients' market distinction and leadership position »
Be a strategic partner with the User Experience, Creative and Technical leads »
Work closely with UX and creative teams to drive user-oriented designs »
Responsible for articulating and defending conceptual and directional choices »
Promote continual creative improvement and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence and accountability »
Help grow new business and develop solid client relationships
