Per SEnergyhas an immediate need for a STRUCTURALENGINEER at our client, an ELECTRIC UTILITY in the Midwest US. This is a CONTRACT position lasting approximately one year.
Position Description

A Nuclear Plant StructuralEngineer will be responsible for the following:
Providing the technical mechanicalexpertise and leadership to coordinate Company activities necessary to fulfill contractual commitments for both large, complex and projects and small mods with major financial impact.
Create and implement plans, control technical and financial resources to optimize short-term profitability.
Serve as Company representative to customer.
Interpret and transmit contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to functional groups.
Coordinate work activities.
Review consulting engineers work
Specific Desired Skills .
A successful candidate would be familiar with and/or have experience with the following:
Bachelors degree in Civil/ StructuralEngineering
Technical or equivalent field.10+ years of professional experience in combination of following areas: structuralengineering,structural design and nuclear power mod experience.
Previous work experience in a commerical nuclear power plant

Major Focus of Position:
Provide technical and administrative leadership.
Direct and provide expertise in steel, concrete, piping, embedments, tanks, cranes for use in commercial nuclear power plants.
Assist management in planning and coordination.

Required Skills:
Technical leadership inengineering and design.
Ability to creatively resolve complex problems by applying in-depth knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and experience withsafety, maintenance, qualification, and troubleshooting.
Guide procedure development and maintenance, personnel training, implementation of steps to consistently achieve quality requirements, operator training, and process improvements.
Address customer and regulatory requirements and concerns.
Use effective project management skills to direct activities to meet project scope, schedule, and capital spending targets.
Knowledge of standard problem solving processes such as Six Sigma is desirable
Position Requirements

Periodic travel may be required but is not usual.
Minimum 6 years, recent nuclear mod experience
Bachelors Degree, StructuralEngineering
Professional Engineering License desirable
