The Structural Trades I position will support all athletic facilities by repairing and installing equipment as needed and by providing equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance and maintaining equipment and supplies inventory. We are looking for someone with previous commercial structural trades experience that works well on a team and is willing to take on additional tasks to support the team’s ultimate goal.

The Structural Trades I in the Department of Athletics supports all athletics facilities by using discretion to establish the best course of action and performing essential duties required for each situation. This position will work on a collaborative team to ensure the safety and success of Athletic events. Duties include:
• Performing repairs to various building systems by assessing the problem, determining the correct course of action and completing the repair or requesting additional assistance;
• Renovating building components and systems by assessing and interpreting user needs, determining the appropriate course of action and completing the project with the instructions and/or guidance from supervisor;
• Assisting in the coordination of special events by assessing the needs of a user and setting up, as well as operating, the event accordingly, with instructions and guidance from the supervisor;
• Communicating and overseeing work performed by outside contractors and University personnel in performance of duties, insuring quality workmanship and completion on schedule with instruction/guidance from supervisor;
• Maintaining equipment by implementing the proper preventive schedule for equipment and machinery as designed by the supervisor. This includes, but is not limited to, hand power tools, hand tools, and golf carts.
Note: This position will require the incumbent to work significant overtime when needed, including all football home games, other athletic events, special events, concerts, Bolder Boulder, and the fourth of July.
Note: This is an essential services position. The incumbent is required to respond after hours during emergencies and report to work for regular assigned shift during emergency campus closures.
Salary and Benefits:
Monthly pay: $2,877 – Pay Grade L10

• Previous commercial structural trades experience
• Previous experience performing structural trades tasks for events of 500 people or more
• Previous experience identifying environmental and safety hazards and taking the correct course of action to address the issue
