While working in Moving Services and Surplus, you may be in contact with customers so it’s important to represent Ohio University Auxiliaries as a whole. Job duties may include but are not limited to lifting and moving of heavy items, loading/unloading trucks, driving moving trucks, rearranging equipment and/or furniture in university buildings, cleaning and organizing work areas, maintaining required sanitary conditions, and following all safety work rules.
Must be a student of Ohio University, Hocking College, or a local high school.
All employees are required to maintain personal hygiene that is appropriate for food service and retail operations.
Culinary Services student employees will be responsible to know and follow all dress codes, rules, policies and procedures. These can be found in the Culinary Services Student Handbook at the following link: http://www.ohio.edu/food/about/upload/handbook2011-12.pdf.
Some jobs may require heavy lifting, moving, and standing or walking for extended periods of time. Also, jobs might be in places with cold/hot temperature work areas.
Culinary Services is an essential department to the Ohio University campus as we are responsible for providing food to our customers no matter the circumstance. Because of this, student employees will be required to work on holidays, snow days, and other days when the university is closed for whatever reason.
Student starting wage is $7.70/hr. Employee working for Moving Services and Surplus must work a minimum of 4 hours per week and not exceed 20 hours per week.”
Must be able to lift at least 75-100lbs!
