Responsible for the set up, service, appearance and the general maintenance of food service areas throughout the meal time. Sets up and breaks down food service lines, takes customer orders, plates and garnishes food.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain the Erickson Retirement Communities philosophy and ²Vision²statement.
Provides friendly and efficient service with appealing plated food to residents and guests.
Works safely at all times and identifies and corrects safety deficiencies.
Shows flexibility and willingness to learn new areas of responsibility.
Maintains dependability and punctuality without deficiencies.
Is in appropriate uniform at all times.
Ensures that there are adequate food and beverages ready to be served in the dining and food service areas i.e. service line is set up with menued food items, beverages are prepared and ready for service, etc.
Maintains dining areas and kitchen sanitation requirements. Assists in the post shift breakdown and cleaning process.
Attends premeal briefing and demonstrates knowledge of menu, therapeutic diets, portioning and plating requirements (as appropriate).
Ensures resident requests or complaints are handled in a timely manner. Notifies a responsible Dining Services manager or Supervisor of a situation not in their ability to handle.
Uses proper food handling sanitation techniques at all times and frequent handwashing occurs especially between handling soiled and clean dishes.
Completes assigned dish and ware washing, using proper procedures.
Communicates appropriately with all Dining Services staff, supervisor and listens effectively.
